Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus Goes Official with Improved Cameras, Wireless Charging, Powerful Processor

The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have been launched officially. The new iPhone 8 duo comes with metal and glass combination design and impressive specifications.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus Specifications and Features

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus respectively feature the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen that are respectively found on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus from last year. However, the screens of both phones are coupled with features like True Tone, 3D Touch and wider color gamut.

The Apple A11 chipset that not only works 25 percent faster but also consumes 70 percent less power than Apple 10 Fusion powers the iPhone 8 duo along with the home-grown 3-core graphics. There is no information on the RAM and battery configurations at present. However, rumors indicate that the iPhone 8 has 2 GB of RAM and iPhone 8 Plus has 3 GB of RAM.

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have 12-megapixel rear cameras. However, the dual camera system on the backside of the 8 Plus features another 12-megapixel telephone lens. The Portrait Lighting feature on both the phones adjusts the tone of the face to look better. Both the handsets feature 7-megapixel front-facing cameras.

The glass panels on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus brings wireless charging feature. Other features that are common on both phones include fast charging Touch ID sensor, Bluetooth 5.0, AR support and iOS 11.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus Pricing and Availability

The 6 GB iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are respectively priced at $699 and $799. These phones also come in 256 GB storage models with respective pricing of $849 and $949.  The pre-orders of iPhone 8 duo will start on Sept. 15 and these phones will be available at stores from Sept. 22. Both phones can be availed in colors like Gold, Space Gray and Silver.
