Apple iPhone 8 Plus Explodes in Taiwan While It Was Reportedly Kept on Charging

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have been available in the market since Sept. 22. On the same day, Apple CEO Tim Cook had claimed that both the iPhones have sold out in some of the stores in the U.S. The iPhone 8 duo has been available for buying in multiple markets including Taiwan from last Friday. It seems that people in Taiwan are skeptical about an iPhone 8 Plus as the handset has reportedly exploded while it was kept on charging.

Taiwanese media has reported that a woman residing in Taichung City had bought the gold version of the 64 GB iPhone 8 Plus on Saturday. On Tuesday afternoon, the handset exploded while it was charging. The iPhone 8 Plus had 70 percent battery power when it was kept on charging and the user claims that she had use an original charger for charging. However, the phablet exploded in 3 minutes, but the woman claims that she did not hear any sound of explosion. The explosion reportedly separated the display panel from its chassis.

The report claims that the iPhone 8 Plus is not her first iPhone as she has been an iPhone user since iPhone 4. She claims that she has never faced such a problem before. The exploded handset has been sent to the factory for examination
