How to root Acer Liquid S2 using Superboot

How to root Acer Liquid S2 The Acer Liquid S2 is a high-end Android phablet announced by Acer back in August last year. The device comes with a 6 inches full-HD display powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM – making it a perfect device for everyone. Needless to say, the Acer Liquid S2 can be rooted rather easily as well. In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you on how to root Acer Liquid S2 using Superboot. *All credits goes to Vache and Shreps from xda-developers.

Disclaimer : During the process of rooting, there is always a risk for you to brick your Android device. So if you choose to root your device, you are doing it at your own risk!

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Acer Liquid S2

  1. Download SuperBoot to your PC. The file is available for download in the first post.
  2. Make sure you have installed the necessary device driver on your PC before proceeding. If you have not do so, you can download it here.
  3. Make sure you have fully charged your device.
  4. Make sure you have enabled USB debugging on your device.
  5. Back up the Acer Liquid S2.

Follow the steps below on how to root Acer Liquid S2

  1. Extract the SuperBoot file to your desktop.
  2. Connect the Acer Liquid S2 to your PC.
  3. Run the root_S520.cmd script by double-clicking on it.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  5. It may take several minutes to root your device.
  6. Once done, reboot your smartphone.
  7. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Acer Liquid S2!
