How to root Coolpad K1 using the vroot program

How to root Coolpad K1The Coolpad K1 is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Coolpad earlier this year. The Coolpad K1 comes with a rather decent spec sheet which include a 5.5-inch IPS display powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core chipset along with 1GB RAM. The device also runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Like most other Android smartphones, we can root Coolpad K1 rather easily using the vroot program (but that’s provided that you have a Windows PC). In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you guys on how to root Coolpad K1 in less than an hour.

Disclaimer : During the process of rooting, there is always a risk for you to brick your Android device. So if you choose to root your device, you are doing it at your own risk! Your device warranty will also be voided after rooting.

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Coolpad K1

  1. Download the vroot program to your PC.
  2. Make sure you have installed the necessary device driver before moving on.
  3. Make sure you have enabled USB Debugging from your device’s settings.
  4. Make sure there is more than 50% battery remaining on your Coolpad K1 smartphone.
  5. Back up your Coolpad K1 smartphone.

Follow the steps below on how to root Coolpad K1

  1. Install vroot on your PC by double-clicking on its icon and follow the onscreen instructions.
  2. Connect the Coolpad K1 to your PC using an appropriate USB cable.
  3. Next, ensure that your PC is able to detect your device before you move on with the rest of the steps.
  4. Open the vroot program on your PC and you should be able to see a screen like the one below.
  5. use vroot to root Coolpad K1On the vroot program, click on the ROOT button ( Green button ) to begin rooting Coolpad K1.
  6. The rooting process will take only a few minutes to complete.
  7. You’ll be prompted by the program once it has rooted your device.
  8. The device will then automatically reboot itself.
  9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Coolpad K1!
