How to root Firefly Intense S

The Firefly Intense S is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Amazon back in October last year. The Firefly Intense S rocks a 5.5″ qHD display powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core chipset along with 1GB of RAM. Other key specs include a 8GB internal storage, microSD slot, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter, 2,600mAh battery as well as Android 4.4.2 KitKat running out of the box.

Like most other Android smartphones, we can root Firefly Intense S rather easily as well. In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you guys on how to root Firefly Intense S in less than an hour.

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Firefly Intense S

  1. Download the SRS Root program on your PC.
  2. Make sure you have installed the necessary device driver before moving on.
  3. Make sure you have enabled USB Debugging from your device’s settings.
  4. Make sure you have at least 80% battery left on your smartphone before you proceed.
  5. Back up the Firefly Intense S.

Follow the steps below on how to root Firefly Intense S

  1. Install SRS Root on your PC by double-clicking on its icon and follow the onscreen instructions. (Right-click and run it as administrator if double-clicking on it doesn’t work)
  2. Connect the Firefly Intense S to your PC using an appropriate USB cable. Make sure your PC is able to detect your device.
  3. Open the SRS Root program on your PC by double-clicking on its icon. (Right-click and run it as administrator if double-clicking on it doesn’t work)
  4. SRS One Click Root program to root Firefly Intense SNext up, click on the Root Device (SmartRoot) button to begin rooting Firefly Intense S.
  5. The rooting process may take some time so be patient.
  6. Once done, reboot your device.
  7. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Firefly Intense S!
