How to root Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1The Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1 is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Gigabyte back in mid-October last year. The device has a 5 inches display powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MT6589T processor and 1GB RAM. Like any other Android smartphone, the Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1 doesn’t give root-access to its users so there is a limit to how much you can customize the device. The only way to gain root-access is to first root your device.

In the following tutorial, I will be showing you how to root Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1 so that you can gain root-access to its system files.

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Alcatel One Touch Pop C3

  1. Download the Framaroot apk to your PC.
  2. Make sure you have installed the device driver on your PC.
  3. Make sure there is at least 80% battery remaining on your smartphone.
  4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
  5. Back up your Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1 smartphone.

Follow the steps below on how to root Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1

  1. Connect the Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1 to your PC.
  2. Copy and paste the Framaroot apk (which you have downloaded earlier) from your PC over to the root of your device’s SD card.
  3. Open the file explorer app ( if you don’t have one on your device, then you may want to download either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk by tapping on its icon.
  4. Once done, open the Framaroot app on your device.
  5. select install Superuser in Framaroot to root Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1From the app, select the Install Superuser option under the Select an action to execute after root section as shown above.
  6. Moving on, select the Boromir exploit ( You can try Faramir or Barahir exploit if Boromir doesn’t work ) under the Select an exploit section.
  7. success pop up in FramarootA pop-up like the one above should show up on your device.
  8. Reboot your device.
  9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Gigabyte GSmart Sierra S1!
