Huawei MediaPad M6 Turbo Edition Quietly Announced in China

Back in June this year, Huawei took the wrap off their latest MediaPad M6 tablets which has gradually became one of the most popular Android tablet in the Chinese market.

To ride on the success of the MediaPad M6, Huawei has quietly announced a Turbo Edition variant for the tablet. Unlike the vanilla model, the Turbo Edition is very much like a gaming-centric tablet which comes with some customized features as well as improved specs.

Huawei MediaPad M6 Turbo Edition Specifications

Although the MediaPad M6 is available in two different versions with 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch display respectively, but the Turbo Edition is available only to the 8.4-inch model only.

The tablet still be coming with a 2560 x 1600 pixels screen resolution which boost an overall 359 ppi density for it’s display. However, unlike the vanilla model, the Turbo Edition will have it’s RAM upgraded to 6GB while keeping it’s internal storage space at 128GB. If you find 128GB insufficient, fret not, you could further expand it to up to 512GB as well. Unsurprisingly, the tablet will also be driven by the Kirin 980 SoC under the hood.

As for it’s camera, there is any change made to this compartment. The Turbo Edition will still be arriving with single-camera on both it’s front and back panel which comprises of an 8 megapixels and 13 megapixels sensors respectively. It also keeps the hefty 6,100mAh battery and will come loaded with the EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie.

For those who’re interested, there are two color options to choose from namely Phantom Blue and Phantom Red.

What are some new features we can expect?

One major upgrade for the Turbo Edition will no doubt be the integration of Harman Kardon certified stereo sound system which supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision surround sound. That will definitely gives users a much better gaming experience in the absence of earphones.

Furthermore, the tablet is also said to come with a PC-grade liquid cooling system which is capable of bringing down CPU-cores temperature by as much as 5 Degrees Celsius. This will definitely help to provide users with a smoother game play without experiencing any game lag due to overheating.

When will it be available and what’s the price?

The Huawei MediaPad M6 Turbo Edition will go on sale starting September 5th in China. Currently, there is still no news on it’s global availability.

In China, the 6GB+128GB WiFi model will come with a price tag of 2,699 Yuan (US$377). The 6GB+128GB 4G LTE model on the other hand, will have a slightly higher price tag of 2,999 Yuan (US$ 419).
