During the official press event held in China today, Huawei has officially announced the highly anticipated Huawei Nova 5i Pro (Mate 30 Lite).
As its name suggests, the Nova 5i Pro is the higher-end version of the Nova 5i which was announced back in May this year. It’s front panel shares a close resemblance to the Nova 5i, except for a slightly smaller display size. It features a near full screen display with a hole punch located on the top left corner which houses its selfie camera.
The rear chassis on the other hand, has a stark difference. Unlike the Nova 5i, the “Pro” version arrives with a squircle design for its quad-camera setup instead of being arranged vertically. It features three color options including Emerald Green, Aurora and Magic Night Black.

The Huawei Nova 5i Pro arrives with a 6.26-inch display with full HD+ screen resolution.
Under the hood, it is driven by the latest Kirin 810 SoC which boast a performance between that of the Snapdragon 845 and Snapdragon 855 SoC. There are 3 memory configurations to choose including as follows: 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
Moving on to its camera, it’s quad-camera setup on the back panel consists of a 48 megapixels main snapper, an 8 megapixels ultrawide angle lens, a 2 megapixels depth sensor and a 2 megapixels ToF sensor. On its front panel, its hole-punched compartment carries a 32 megapixels selfie camera which encompasses AI technology to assist users in taking a perfect shot whether you’re under an extremely bright or low-light conditions.
A 4,000mAh non-removable battery sits beneath its back panel to support hours of continuous usages on the go. The device runs on the latest EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie which brings many interesting and useful features including the company’s renowned GPU Turbo 3.0, EROFS file system, Huawei Vlog and many more.

The pricing for the Huawei Nova 5i Pro are as follows:
- 6GB+128GB – 2,199 Yuan (US$320)
- 8GB+128GB – 2,499 Yuan (US$363)
- 8GB+256GB – 2,799 Yuan (US$407)
As of now, there is still no news on when the device will be available in the international market. However, we do know that the device will go on sale starting August 2nd in the Chinese market.
