After months of leaks, Huawei has officially announced the P20 and P20 Pro today through a launch event in Paris, France. The P20 features a notched display like iPhone-X, stereo speakers and dual rear cameras. The P20 Pro has the same specs along with triple lens camera.
Huawei P20 and P20 Pro Specifications
Huawei P20 features a 5.8-inch notched LCD screen that supports 2,244 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The bottom bezel of the phone has fingerprint sensor enabled multiple-purpose key. It is fueled by Kirin 970 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 64 GB and for additional storage users make use of the hybrid SIM slot. A 3,400mAh battery powers the phone. It is enabled with support for Huawei’s Super Charge fast charging technology.
It features a Leica engineered dual camera setup that features a 12-megapixel RGB sensor with f/1.6 aperture and a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture. It is coupled with features like dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, laser autofocus and depth detection. It can shoot 720p slow-motion videos at 960 fps. The 24-megapixel front camera also works as Face Unlock.
The front and rear sides of the P20 is made out of glass and it features a metallic frame. With IP53 rating, the P20 features a dust and splash resistant chassis. Its color variants are Black, Midnight Blue, Pink Gold, Champagne Gold and Twilight.
The P20 Pro has a 6.1-inch OLED display that includes support for same resolution and aspect ratio like P20. It also features a fingerprint scanner below the display. It is powered by the same SoC but features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
As rumors had revealed, it features 40-megapixel RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, 8-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 20-megapixel monochrome lens with f/1.6 aperture. The P20 Pro’s triple camera setup engineered by Leica features 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom. It has the same 24-megapixel selfie snapper that doubles up facial recognition. It is packed with a 4,000mAh battery that includes support for 22.5W Super Charge fast charging technology. The P20 Pro sports the same design for its IP67 certified chassis. Also, it can be bought in same color choices.
Pricing and Availability
The P20 is now available for buying with a price tag of 649 euros. The P20 Pro can be bought for 899 euros from April 6.
