Latest reports claim no 21:9 display for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9

Previously, there were rumors that Samsung will be introducing a 21:9 display on that upcoming Galaxy S9 flagship which is slated to be unveiled somewhere during the first quarter next year. A new report out of Netherlands however, seem to suggest otherwise according to their insider’s tip.

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 renders

On the whole, the Galaxy S9 will still be featuring an increased screen-to-body ratio – but that will come entirely from the watered-down bezels instead of a greater aspect ratio. Currently, the Galaxy S8 boast a screen-to-body ratio of around 83.6% which is slightly smaller compared to the speculated ratio for the Galaxy S9 which stood around 90% this time round.

Of course, there is definitely a limit to the amount of bezels the Korean company can shave off given that the top bezels will have to house quite a number of crucial components including selfie cam, proximity sensor, iris scanner and so on. For now, let’s wait and see what kind of surprise Samsung will have for us!
