LG Velvet 4G has been spotted on Geekbench; will cost 20% cheaper than its 5G model

Seems like the newly announced LG Velvet 5G will soon be joined by a more affordable 4G model. This device, bearing the model number LM-G910 has been spotted on Geekbench 5.1 earlier today along with some of its key details.

According to its Geekbench listing, the LG Velvet 4G will be driven by a 2 year old Snapdragon 845 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 765G found in the 5G model. This doesn’t came much as a surprise since LG had recently announced a Snapdragon 845-driven smartphone in Japan known as the LG Style 3.

Despite running on an older SoC, the LG Velvet is still able to deliver pretty impressive performance out of the box. Based on its performance test on Geekbench, the device has attained a score of 440 points and 2,090 points respectively for its single-core and multi-cores test. Other than that, it was also revealed that the device has 6 gigs of RAM and will boot on the latest Android 10 OS.

Besides that, recent reports have suggested that the 4G model could cost 20% cheaper than the current 5G model which retails at a hefty 899,800 Won (US$734) in South Korea.

Keeping in mind most global markets doesn’t have active 5G network, it definitely makes sense to launch 4G variants in these markets to attract consumers with a more affordable price tag.
