The Xiaomi 5X, which was previously touted as the Xiaomi X1, has finally made its first public appearance through an alleged leaked poster which was circulated via Chinese Weibo. Although the Xiaomi 5X looks rather blurry in the poster, but its pretty obvious that the device has a dual-camera setup at the back – just like what the rumor mills have been suggesting.
Other than giving us a sneak peek of the upcoming handset, the poster also revealed some of the device’s key specs which include a 5.5″ display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, as well as 4GB of RAM. All these goodies will come with a price tag of just 1,999 Yuan ($195).
That’s not all. According to a new report out of China, there will also be another higher-end model of the Xiaomi 5X which packs a Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage space. This higher-end version also purportedly features a 12 megapixel dual-camera setup which comprises of a combination of Sony IMX386 and Samsung S5k3m3 sensors. At the front, there is also a 16 megapixel camera for selfies. Software-wise, the Xiaomi 5X will be shipped with Android 7.1.1 out of the box, with the latest MIUI 9 running atop.
If nothing goes wrong, we can expect the Xiaomi 5X to make its debut on July 26th which coincidentally falls on the same unveiling date as the Meizu Pro 7.
