OnePlus 6T May Not Release in 2018, Says OnePlus Founder

OnePlus 5T is the improved edition of the OnePlus 5 that was unveiled in June this year. It is the second consecutive year for the company to introduce “T” version for its flagship phones. Hence, the rumor mill is now speculating that the company may debut OnePlus 6T next year. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei claims has recently revealed through an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on OnePlus forums that the company may not launch OnePlus 6T next year.

OnePlus 3 was introduced with Snapdragon 820 in June 2016. Since Qualcomm had launched the improved Snapdragon 821 chipset in the latter of 2016, OnePlus debuted the OnePlus 3T phone with SD 821 chip onboard. This year, OnePlus 5 came with a regular design, but since most flagship phones and mid-range phones have adopted full screen design, the Chinese firm introduced the OnePlus 5T with full screen design along with some other improvements.

OnePlus 3T and 5T were not launched on some long-term product strategy, but they were announced as the company wanted to bring new technology to its users. OnePlus 6 will be probably launching in June 2016 with full screen design, Snapdragon 845 chipset and enhanced dual cameras, but the company has not yet decided on releasing OnePlus 6T in next year. However, it seems if there is a new trend in 2018 or if there is an upgraded version of SD 845, it may release OnePlus 6T. Otherwise, we may see only one OnePlus phone next year.
