During the ongoing MWC Shanghai 2019, there has been much chattering about upcoming 5G smartphones. Yesterday, Vivo had already announced during the event that the Vivo iQOO 5G will be the company’s first 5G smartphone which will be launched within 3 months time.
Right now, OPPO has also confirmed on their Chinese Weibo blog that they will be unveiling their first-ever 5G handset in China during the third-quarter of the year. As seen from the teaser released by the company, it is pretty obvious that the device will be none other than the OPPO Reno 5G which seems to share a similar design language as the current Reno 10x Zoom.
After China issued the mobile 5G commercial licenses to the country’s major telecommunication network operator earlier this month, we saw an intensifying 5G race among several Chinese smartphone makers to debut their first-ever 5G handset. Apart from OPPO and Vivo, both Huawei and Lenovo are also slated to announce their first 5G unit in the coming months as well.
Just yesterday, the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 X 5G has received its TENAA certification – hinting that the device could make its debut as early as next month.
