OPPO Reno Z with Helio P90 SoC officially announced

During an official launch event held in Hong Kong today, OPPO has took the wrap off their latest OPPO Reno Z mid-ranger smartphone. The OPPO Reno Z is the forth smartphone within the Reno series which comprises of OPPO Reno, Reno 5G, as well as the renowned Reno 10x Zoom.

Among the other handsets within the series, the OPPO Reno Z has the lowest hardware specifications which also made it the cheapest among all. On the first look, the device looks rather similar to the newly announced OPPO K3 as well as the current OPPO Reno except for one obvious difference – its waterdrop notch located on the front panel. Other than that, the front and rear designs seem to share similar design language with minor tweaks here and there.

OPPO Reno Z Specifications

The OPPO Reno Z features a 6.4″ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels screen resolution and a 19.5:9 tall aspect ratio.

Under the hood, the device is driven by an octa-core Helio P90 SoC alongside 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal storage space in the memory compartment. Moving on to its camera, the OPPO Reno Z has a dual-camera setup on the rear chassis which comprises of a 48MP (f/1.7 aperture) main snapper and a 5MP (f/2.4 aperture) depth sensor. At the front, the waterdrop notch houses a 32MP (f/2.0 aperture) selfie camera as well.

Software-wise, the Reno Z will run on OPPO’s in-house ColorOS 6.0 based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie. To keep its lights on, there is also a 4,035mAh battery housed beneath the rear chassis which supports 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

OPPO Reno Z Price

The OPPO Reno Z will arrive in two different models. Strangely enough, both models including the 6GB+256GB model and the 8GB+128GB model will share a similar price tag of 2,499 Yuan (S$499).

For those who’re interested, the Reno Z will be available in four color options namely Night Black, Star Purple, Bead White and Coral Orange. The device will go on its debut sales in China starting June 6th next week. As of now, there is still no news on when the device will be heading to Singapore.
