Earlier today, OPPO has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated OPPO Reno2 series will make its official debut on August 28th later this month. Shortly after the news broke out, an alleged promotional poster of the Reno2 series was spotted circulating around Chinese Weibo.
Just like what the official press invite has revealed, the promotional poster also shows off one of the Reno2 model with a quad-camera setup on its back panel. That’s not all. The same promotional poster also flaunt the renowned shark fin-style selfie camera on the upcoming Reno2 as well. This is also consistent with what OPPO had confirmed earlier on.
As seen above, the new Reno2 will be available in a myriad of colors including Ocean Green, Dark Blue, as well as a Glossy White version. Since the promotional poster mentions that the device will arrive with a 20x Zoom feature, we assume that the model we are looking at here is the highest-end model of the Reno2 series.
Currently, the highest-end model in the Reno series can only boast up to 10x hybrid zoom. Therefore, this is definitely a huge improvement for it’s successor which can achieve up to 20x digital zoom. Unlike the Huawei’s P30 series, we believe that the upcoming Reno2 series will not be utilizing any periscope lens on its quad-camera. Therefore, it’s 20x digital Zoom is mainly achieved by some complex AI and software processes in the background.
