Redmi Note 5 Found Listed on JD, Launch Could be Nearing

The rumor mill has been claiming that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 may launch before the end of the year. The arrival of the Redmi Note 5 seems to be close at hand as it has been found listed on JingDong mall before its official launch.

The above image is a screenshot of Redmi Note 5’s listing on JD. This suggests that the smartphone may get announced soon. In the recent past, Xiaomi phones with model numbers MET7 and MEE7 were certified by TENAA in China. Speculations are rife that these could variants of the upcoming Redmi Note 5. The USP of the Note 5 will be that it will be sporting a full screen design with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Redmi Note 5 is speculated to feature a 5.99-inch display that will support full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It is speculated to be fueled by 2 GHz octa-core processor. It may arrive in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage models. The front side of the Redmi Note 5 may feature a 5-megapixel selfie camera and a rear-mounted 12-megapixel camera. It may be loaded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS and is likely to include a 4,000mAh capacity battery. It is likely to cost around 999 Yuan (~$150).
