Samsung Galaxy S10 Moniker Won’t Be Used for 2019 Galaxy S Flagship

Even though Samsung is yet to unveil the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones, the rumor mill has already started to speculate on their successor models. Fresh information suggests that the 2019 Galaxy S series flagships will not be launching as Galaxy S10. The South Korean company may launch it as Galaxy X.

Last year, Apple had launched the 10th anniversary iPhone as iPhone X and not as iPhone 10. Hence, it is speculated that the Samsung will also adopt the same strategy and call its next Galaxy S series flagship as Galaxy X. This way the company would be able to avoid using weird names like Galaxy S11, S12, S13 and so on for its forthcoming Galaxy S lineup.

Samsung has already trademarked the Galaxy X moniker. Also, previous rumors have claimed that the upcoming foldable phone may carry Galaxy X name. However, fresher information states that the Galaxy X branding could be using for forthcoming Galaxy S series flagships. It is too early to speculate on the specs and features on the Galaxy X.

As far as the first foldable smartphone from the company is concerned, its has already showcased it to its clients privately at the CES 2018 event in the previous month. It is likely to get unveiled at the end of this year or early next year.
