Yesterday, we reported that the upcoming Honor 9X series will be making its grand debut on July 23rd later this month.
Today, Honor has posted their first-ever teaser for the highly anticipated handset – confirming that the Honor 9X will be arriving with the latest Kirin 810 SoC under the hood. This makes the device second to the Huawei Nova 5 to utilize the Kirin 810 chip.
According to various benchmark tests carried out on Geekbench 4.2 and AnTuTu, the Kirin 810 apparently outperforms its Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 SoC couterpart in both single-core and multi-core tests. The same trends were also observed in its GPU performance as well.
The Honor 9X Pro on the other hand, is said to be powered by the company’s flagship Kirin 980 SoC instead. Performance-wise, we could see that the Kirin 810 in fact doesn’t trail far behind its Kirin 980 sibling and will definitely be able to provide a smooth multi-tasking and gaming experience on the Honor 9X.
Besides its processing chip, the rest of the specs remain a mystery for the Honor 9X. However, earlier reports and rumors seem to have suggested that the device would arrive with a triple-camera setup comprising of a 24-megapixels primary lens, an 8-megapixels superwide angle lens and a 2-megapixels depth sensor. As for its selfie camera, it is said to house a 20 megapixels sensor as well.
