Vivo Z5x has been officially announced

After days of intense teasing on their Chinese Weibo blog, Vivo has today made official their new Vivo Z5x mid-ranger smartphone. The device will be the first handset from the company to feature a punch-hole design for its selfie camera which was first popularize by the Galaxy S10.

Similar to most of the newly released smartphones we had seen so far, the Vivo Z5x will also be featuring an edge-to-edge design with minimal bezels along its four sides. On the back of the device, there is a triple-camera setup located on the top left corner, as well as a fingerprint sensor.

Vivo Z5x Specifications

The Vivo Z5x features a 6.53-inches LCD display with a decent 1080 x 2340 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC alongside a massive 5,000mAh non-removable battery to keep its lights on for an extended period of time.

Camera-wise, the Vivo Z5x comes with a triple camera setup comprising of a 16 MP resolution with f/1.78 aperture main sensor, a 8 MP (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide angle sensor, as well as a 2 MP (f/2.4 aperture) depth sensor. As for its punch-hole selfie cam, it will be carrying a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture as well.

The device will be arriving in 4 different models with 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, as well as a higher-end model with 8GB+128GB memory configurations. For those who’re interested, you can choose between three color options namely Extreme Night Black, Phantom Black or Aurora.

The pricing for the Vivo Z5x are as follows:

  • 4GB+64GB : 1,398 Yuan (S$ 278)
  • 6GB+64GB : 1,498 Yuan (S$ 299)
  • 6GB+128GB : 1,698 Yuan (S$ 338)
  • 8GB+128GB : 1,998 Yuan (S$398)

The device will go on sale in the Chinese market starting June 1st next week. As of now, there is still no news on when it will go on sale in Singapore.
