In the previous week, we had reported about the appearance of the Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone on the official RF exposure page of Xiaomi. Fresh information suggest that it could be the first Android One smartphone from Xiaomi.
A new Xiaomi phone has been spotted on the website POSTEL, a certification body from Indonesia. The model number of the smartphone is MDG2. The report from the previous week had revealed that the MDG2 smartphone would be debuting as Xiaomi Mi A1. However, the presence of the Xiaomi Mi 5X in the listing for MDG2 of POSTEL suggests that this phone could be inspired from Xiaomi Mi 5X.
Also, the description of the smartphone starts that it would be a dual-SIM Android One smartphone and it would be coming with a 5.5-inch full HD screen. Also, it would be coming with dual rear cameras. Hence, the Mi A1 could be the first Android One smartphone dual rear camera smartphone and also the first Android One phone from Xiaomi. Since it will be an Android One phone, it won’t be featuring MIUI proprietary skin from Xiaomi in order to deliver stock Android experience. Speculations are rife that it could be also debuting in the U.S. with a pricing of around $200 to $300. It could also mark the arrival of Xiaomi in the U.S markets.
