After several rounds of teasing, Xiaomi has finally confirmed that their new Mi CC series will be announced on July 2nd next month.
According to rumors, there will be two smartphones announced during the launch event including Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e – both of which are designed and developed by their in-house Chic and Cool 90 team.
Earlier this week, there is also an alleged render of the Xiaomi Mi CC9e spotted on Weibo which revealed a seemingly similar design as the current Mi 9 except some minor changes here and there.
From what we’d understand so far, the Mi CC9e is expected to come with a 6.39-inch display which is driven by the new Snapdragon 712 SoC. There will be a triple-camera setup on its rear chassis which will comprise of a 48 megapixels main snapper. On the front panel, its top-notch will house a 32 megapixels selfie camera as well. A 4,000mAh non-removable battery will also be available under the hood to support hours of continuous usage on the go.
The Mi CC9 on the other hand, is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 730 SoC instead. Aside from their difference in processing chip, the rest of the specs remain pretty similar.
Keeping in mind that the new CC series is a design-centric line of smartphones focusing on the younger populations, we wouldn’t expect it to come with powerful specs like the Mi 9 or Mi Mix series.
