Realme is prepping to launch its first smartphone of the year. In the previous year, the Madhav Sheth, the CEO of Realme India had claimed a new Realme phone would be debuting by March this year. In an interview with an Indian publication, Sheth has confirmed that the Realme 3 will be announced in the first quarter of 2019. In addition to this, he has revealed that the company is working on another phone with 48-mgeapixel camera.
Sheth did not disclose any information on the specifications and pricing of the Realme 3 smartphone. Also, he refrained from revealing the name of the 48-megapixel camera phone. However, the company aims to focus to launch its smartphone under Rs. 20,000 cap in the country. What’s confirmed is that the Realme 3 or the 48-megapixel camera phone won’t be featuring a punch hole display or triple camera setup.
He confirmed that Realme will be releasing Android 9 Pie update for Realme 2 Pro and Realme U1 handsets in Q1 2019. The remaining phones such as Realme 2 and Realme C1 are expected to be served with Android 9 Pie treat in Q2 this year. In 2019, the company will be also concentrating on building its presence in offline markets in India. The company plans to launch 20,000 stores in 150 cities by the end of this year.
