The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are rumored to come with a 12-megapixel camera with dual-pixel autofocus camera. According to Naver, an online news portal from South Korea, the Galaxy S8’s rear camera be carrying support for 1000 fps video shooting. Samsung was able to achieve it by adding DRAM for buffer memory in the sensor of the camera.
The newly launched Sony Xperia XZ Premium that features a 19-megapixel camera that includes a Sony IMX400 sensor is capable of shooting 960 fps slow-motion videos at 720 pixels. There is no confirmation on the resolution of the 1000 fps videos that can be shot by Samsung Galaxy S8. The iPhone 7 Plus, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge can shoot 240 fps slo-mo videos.
The publication has also revealed more information on the front-facing camera of the Galaxy S8 duo. Both phones are expected to arrive with 8-megapixel frontal snapper that will carry support for autofocus. There will be additional 3.7-megapixel RGB camera sensor on both phones for iris scanning. It may be also used for facial recognition, an alleged feature that is expected to arrive on both phones.
