Xiaomi has confirmed on its official Weibo account today that it will be unveiling a new smartphone on April 25. The launch teaser that the company has released does not contain the name of the device that will be announced later this month. However, rumors are claiming that Xiaomi will be debuting the Mi 6X mid-range smartphone.
Its appearance at TENAA regulatory body in March had revealed specs like 5.99-inch FHD+ display, 2.2 GHz octa-core processor, 4 GB / 6 GB RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB storage models. It is expected to come with 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 front camera and a dual camera setup featuring 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 + 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensors. It will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo and is likely to be packed with 2,910 mAh battery.
Last year, Xiaomi had launched the Mi 5X in July and later it had launched Mi A1 as its first Android One phone running stock version of Android Oreo. Likewise, the Chinese company is speculated to debut the Xiaomi Mi A2 with stock Android Oreo onboard shortly after the unveiling of Mi 6X. The Mi 6X is likely to be exclusively available in China like its predecessor and the Mi A2 is pegged to be available globally.
