Upcoming Meizu X8 mid-ranger confirmed by company’s CEO

Meizu X8

Earlier today, Meizu’s CEO Jack Wong has revealed on his Weibo account that the company is currently prepping a new mid-ranger smartphone dubbed as the Meizu X8. Although Wong did not mention anything on the device’s release date, but he do leak out some saucy details of the Meizu X8’s key specs and pricing.

According to him, the device will be coming with a price tag of less than 2,000 Yuan (US$ 303) and is expected to sport a better specs sheet than the current Xiaomi Mi 8 SE smartphone. Similarly, he also claimed that the Meizu X8 will be featuring a larger display than the Mi 8 SE as well – once again hinting that the device will be a close competitor to the newly announced Mi 8 SE.

Last week, Wong also took to his Weibo blog that the X8 will be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC which has helped the device to score more than 170,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark app. In fact, aside from the X8, the company’s CEO has also recently begun to tease on the company’s next flagship none other than the Meizu 16 which is slated to be announced next year.
