A Chinese tipster has revealed that Xiaomi is now prepping up to launch a new series of smartphones called Xiaomi Play. The handset may get announced on Dec. 24. As of this writing, there is no official confirmation on the existence of Xiaomi Play. However, Chinese media are speculating it could be the rebranded version of the Poco F1 for China.
The usage of Play word suggests that the smartphone will be offering good gaming experience, longer battery and an impressive viewing experience. Probably, it could be the Xiaomi Poco F1 budget-friendly flagship phone. it is the cheapest Snapdragon 845 chipset powered smartphone. The Chinese manufacturer has sold more than 700,000 units of the smartphone in the last three months.
The Poco F1 features a 6.18-inch IPS LCD notched display that produces full HD+ resolution. The notch of the phone houses IR sensor for accurate face scanning in dim light conditions. It comes with up to 8 GB of RAM and an internal storage of up to 256 GB. It includes a microSD card slot for more storage.
For photography, it features a 20-megapixel camera on the front. The rear side of the phone features 12-megappixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. It is packed with a 4,000mAh battery. In India, the 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM edition of the Poco F1 is selling with a price tag of Rs. 19,999 ($277).
