Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, released the Xiaomi Mi 8 series in May last year. This series, especially the regular Xiaomi Mi 8 has been widely accepted by the market and many believe that it is the most cost-effective smartphone in the market. This means that for the money you spend on this device, it gives you much more. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Technology, recently involved in a discussion about the Xiaomi Mi 8 on Weibo. He said that for a while, he has not used this smartphone and after he used it recently, he appreciated how easy it is to use. According to him, Xiaomi Mi 8 was perfectly made. Lei Jun specifically said that the recent camera update that this smartphone received which adds 960fps super slow motion video and handheld super night scene mode make this device far better.
Many netizens believe that Xiaomi Mi 8 is the most cost-effective smartphone but they don’t agree that it is the most classic. Instead, they opted for two years old Xiaomi Mi 6 as the most classic Xiaomi smartphone. Lei Jun agreed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 still remains the most classic device.
As of now, the lowest variant (6B+64GB) of the Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with a 2099 yuan ($310) price tag for those buying this smartphone right outta China. However, if you need to get this device from other online stores, it will be a good idea to add $50 to that price. A few days ago, Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi Mi 8 won’t get any cheaper, he also said that the Mi brand will not be releasing cheap flagships anymore, that will be left for the newly announced Redmi sub-brand. Thus we expect that from this year, Mi phones will go up from 3000 Yuan ($443).
