The size of the top bezels has considerably reduced in the recent years. Newer phones like OnePlus 7 Pro, Vivo X27 Pro, Vivo V15 Pro, OPPO Reno, Reno 10x Zoom, Huawei P Smart Z, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro phones are equipped with notch-less displays and a pop-up selfie camera module. OPPO is now gearing up to launch a new notch-less display phone with in-screen selfie camera. The Chinese firm has teased its in-display camera technology through a tweet.
The short video clip shows a portion of the mysterious phone. A user can be seen launching the camera app. The vide reveals that the camera is placed at the middle towards the top bezel of the phone. There is a flash animation when the front camera is used for capturing selfie shots.
OPPO is not in a hurry to disclose the name of the device that will feature the in-display selfie camera technology. According to OPPO’s VP Brian Shen, the in-display selfie camera technology is weaker than conventional front-facing cameras and it will take more time to improve its photography prowess. Hence, it appears that a phone with in-display front camera may take some time to hit the market as the company will want to launch a phone that delivers good photo shooting experience through the selfie snapper.
