Few months after the launch of the Vivo NEX smartphone last year, the company had began testing its 5G prototype. Today, through a press event ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019 tech trade show that will kick off tomorrow, Vivo has announced that iQOO 5G will be its first commercial 5G smartphone.
The company has claimed that the iQOO 5G will be releasing in the Chinese market in the next three months. The iQOO 5G phone will be featuring the X50 5G modem along with the Snapdragon 855 SoC. The 5G modem requires a larger motherboard and four antennas because of which the size of the iQOO 5G’s battery may reduce. The 4G LTE iQOO comes with 4,400mAh battery
The upcoming Huawei Mate 20 X 5G will be featuring a 4,200mAh battery. Its regular version has 5,000mAh battery. Hence, there is a possibility that iQOO 5G will be arriving with a battery of around 3,600mAh capacity.
Vivo also announced that 5G networks will let users enjoy AR games and 3D video from their smartphone with reduced latency. It also demoed its Super FlashCharge 120W fast charging technology that charges a 4,000mAh battery to 50 percent capacity in 5 minutes and full charges it in 13 minutes.
