After Huawei reaffirmed their commitment to roll out the Android Q update to 17 devices, it’s sub-brand Honor has also followed its trail and promised to seed the same update to the newly announced Honor 20 series. This news came directly via Honor India who confirmed that the Honor 20i. Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro will be able to access Android Q.
This is no doubt a crucial move for the Chinese smartphone maker given that the Honor 20 Pro will soon be available in the global market as it had already received its Google Play certification earlier today.
In the same statement released by Honor, the Chinese smartphone maker also mentioned that all Honor smartphones and tablets will continue to receive security updates and Android updates as per normal. Same goes to its accessibility to Play Store apps – everything can still be downloaded and function normally on all Honor devices.
Hopefully, the company’s announcement today could ease consumers’ fear and clear some misunderstandings and confusions with regards to its future software support.
