After Vivo officially confirmed that their new Vivo Z5 mid-ranger smartphone will be announced on July 31st, the Chinese smartphone maker has went ahead to publish a few official renders of the device.
From the renders, its good enough to reaffirm earlier reports that the Vivo Z5 is indeed the Vivo V1921A smartphone which was recently certified by the Chinese TENAA authority.
On first look, the Vivo Z5’s rear chassis shares a same design language as its Vivo Z5x sibling – except it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor on its back panel. The design of its triple-camera compartment also looks exactly the same as the Z5x.
On its front panel, there is a water drop-notch which houses a selfie camera. This is unlikely the Vivo Z5x which had opted for a hole-punch design to house its selfie camera.
Even though both the upcoming Z5 and Z5x may look rather similar on the outside, but specs-wise, they differ greatly. The Vivo Z5 will feature a greatly buffed up specs under the hood and will definitely cost considerably more than the Z5x.
Vivo Z5 Specifications
The TENAA listing of the Vivo Z5 reveals that it measures 159.53 x 75.23 x 8.13mm and it weighs 189.6 grams. The smartphone features an AMOLED display with waterdrop notch that offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
The smartphone is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS. It is driven by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.3 GHz. It comes with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM. For storage, the smartphone offers options such as 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. Sad to say, there is no support for external storage on the device.
Moving on to its camera, the device’s triple-camera setup consists of a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel sensors. Under the hood, there is a 4,420mAh non-removable battery to fuel hours of continuous usage.
