After a considerably long wait, the highly anticipated Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro have finally been announced today.
As expected, the new Honor 9X series completely revolutionize Honor’s “X” series by evolving it from an affordable entry-level smartphones five years ago, to an upper mid-ranger lineup we saw today – modern design language, coupled with high-end specs.
Honor 9X Key Specifications
The Honor 9X comes with a notch-less full screen display courtesy of its motorize pop-up selfie camera. On the outside, the device looks extremely sleek and elegant. The device has an overall footprint measuring 163.1 × 77.2 × 8.8mm and weighs approximately 206 grams. Unlike last year’s Honor 8X, the Honor 9X has ditched a rear facing fingerprint sensor and instead, deploys a side-mounted fingerprint sensor this time round.
It arrives with a 6.59-inch IPS LCD panel which carries a full HD+ screen resolution. Under the hood, the Honor 9X is driven by their latest in-house Kirin 810 SoC alongside 4GB/ 6GB/ 8GB RAM and 64GB/ 128GB worth of internal storage space.
On its back panel, you can find a dual-camera setup which comprises of a 48 megapixels main snapper and a 2 megapixels secondary sensor. At the front, there will be a motorized pop-up selfie camera which houses a 16 megapixels sensor.
Underneath the back panel sits a 4,000mAh non-removable battery which is capable of fueling the device for hours of continuous usage. It’s EMUI 9.1 (based on Android Pie) interface will provide an enriching user experience with its simplistic design and tons of useful features.
The Honor 9X will be available in three color options namely Magic Night Black and Charming Sea Blue (translated from Chinese) and Red.
Honor 9X Pro Key Specifications
The Honor 9X Pro comes with entirely similar spces as the Honor 9X except for the difference in their camera compartment.
Unlike the Honor 9, the “Pro” version has a triple-camera setup on its rear chassis which comprises of a 48 megapixels main snapper, an 8 megapixels ultrawide angle sensor and a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Color-wise, there are two color options for the Honor 20 Pro including Magic Night Black and Phantom Purple.

As of now, there is still no news on the global availability of the Honor 9X series. In China however, the Honor 9X will go on sale starting July 30th, while the Honor 9X Pro will go on sale starting August 9th.
