Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G spotted in a new hands-on video

This week, @MaxWinebach from xda-developers has brought to us loads of juicy details pertaining to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 flagship series.

He started off by leaking a trio of Galaxy S20+ 5G real life images, followed by the camera specs of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Now, he is back again with the first hands-on video of the Galaxy S20+ 5G.

Once again, the newly leaked video reaffirmed the existence of a central hole-punched, Infinity-O display on the Galaxy S20+ 5G. In comparison, the current Galaxy S10+ has a pill-shaped camera module located on the top-right corner of the display.

Moreover, it is also pretty obvious in the video that the Galaxy S20+ 5G does not offer much curvature along the sides of it’s front display. The reason for that is because Samsung has opted for a 2.5D glass panel this time round.

The front display, as we already knew, will be able to support up to a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. However, as noted by renowned tipster @UniverseIce, the 120Hz refresh rate will not be available if the device’s screen resolution is set to WQHD mode.

Similarly, it was also confirmed by xda-developers that the Galaxy S20+ 5G will feature an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, instead of an optical fingerprint scanner.

As seen in the video, the rear panel of the Galaxy S20+ 5G had seen a major redesign from it’s predecessor. There will be a huge rectangular camera module which resembles that of the recently announced Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite.

From what we understand so far, the quad-camera setup on the back will include a 12 megapixels primary shooter, a 64 megapixels telephoto camera, a 12 megapixels ultra-wide camera, and finally a ToF sensor. Earlier reports also claimed that the telephoto camera is able to achieve up to 3x optical zoom and as much as 30x total zoom.

In terms of it’s internals, the Galaxy S20+ 5G will be driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC and has a generous 12GB RAM under the hood as well. It will be fueled by a mammoth 4,500mAh battery which supports 25W fast-charging.

If nothing goes wrong, the Galaxy S20 flagship series will go official on February 11th next month during the Unpacked event.
