Huawei Mate Xs registration goes live in China; will go on sale starting March 5th

Earlier this week, Huawei officially announced their new Mate Xs foldable phone during a live-streamed launch event.

As expected, the Mate Xs continue to maintain the same design ethos as it’s predecessor, but comes with some interesting upgrades under the hood. This include the buffed up Kirin 990 SoC, a more durable display and a more robust hinge system.

Now, Huawei has opened up registrations for the Mate Xs in the Chinese market starting today. After the one week registration period, the device will then go for its debut sale on March 5th.

In the Chinese market, the Huawei Mate Xs retails for just 16,999 Yuan (US$2,415) for its sole 8GB+512GB model. That’s significantly cheaper than the European market where the device retails at €2,499 (US$2,716) for the same model.

As with the case of the Huawei Mate X, we do expect the Mate Xs to be sold out during the first few rounds of sale.
