Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition goes official in Japan

To commemorate this year’s Tokyo Olympic, Japanese mobile carrier DoCoMo has partnered with Samsung to release an exclusive Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition model.

What’s unique here is that the Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition has an exclusive Matte Gold shade which is not available for the default model. It also has the Tokyo Olympic 2020 logo etched towards the bottom of it’s rear panel to add commemorative value to the flagship.

Besides that, it will also come with a specially curated retail box which is themed over the Tokyo Olympic 2020 as well. Other than that, the rest of it’s specs will remain similar as the top-end model of the Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G.

In Japan, the Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition will be up for registration staring March 18th. It will not be available until at least June, or not later.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition has a 6.7-inches display Dynamic AMOLED display with 1440 x 3200 pixels screen resolution. It has a nice-looking 20:9 tall aspect ratio, and supports up to 120Hz refresh rate.

The device is driven by Snapdragon 865 SoC under the hood. In the memory compartment, it will be quipped with 12GB worth of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space which is further expandable via it’s dedicated microSDXC slot.

Moving on to it’s camera, the device features a quad-camera setup on it’s rear panel. This comprises of a 12 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) main shooter, 64 megapixels (f/2.0 aperture) telephoto lens, 12 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide lens, as well as a DepthVision camera.

It is capable of supporting up to 3x hybrid zoom, and as much as 30x Super Resolution Zoom. There will also be support for 8K video recording as well. At the front, there will be a 10 megapixels selfie camera located within it’s hole-punched compartment.

The Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Edition is fueled by a hefty 4,500mAh battery which support 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It will run on the latest One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 out of the box.
