Recently, we’d heard about the imminent arrival of the LG Velvet smartphone which will come with a brand new, fashionable design language. Today, LG has officially confirmed that this highly-anticipated handset will make its global debut on May 7th, the following month.
As confirmed by LG, the upcoming LG Velvet will be sporting a dewdrop-notch display with considerable curves along its two sides. On its back panel, the device has a so-called “raindrop” triple-camera setup paired with a LED flash. This device will be available in a total of four different colorways including Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset.
Under the hood, the LG Velvet has also been confirmed to be driven by the Snapdragon 765G platform which will allow the device to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. It is expected to be a premium mid-ranger which will compete against the likes of the newly announced Motorola Edge.
