Vivo X50 Pro May Come with the Newly Announced Samsung GN1 Sensor

Samsung has just introduced a new image sensor called ISOCELL GN1. The company claims that it is the first image sensor to come with Dual Pixel and Tetracell technologies. It is built to capture stellar photos in low-light technologies. It is speculated that the Vivo X50 Pro debuting on June 1 will be the first smartphone to feature it.

The ISOCELL GN1 is a 50-megapixel sensor with a large pixel size of 1.2micron. The image sensor promises DSLR-level autofocus speeds. The South Korean company said that it offers a software algorithm which makes it possible to capture images with resolutions comparable to 100-megapixel. The mass production of the ISOCELL GN1 is slated to begin this month.

Interestingly, Vivo China’s Product Manager Han Boxiao has reshared a post that talks about the launch of the Samsung ISOCELL GN1 lens. He also hints that the arrival of a phone with GN1 in the first half of the year. Hence, it is being speculated that the upcoming Vivo X50 series will come equipped with the new lens.

A trustworthy tipster from China has claimed that the Vivo X50 Pro will indeed be the first phone to feature the Samsung GN1 50-megapixel sensor. He revealed that the company has sent the device to DxOMark for benchmark reports.

He has further revealed that the Vivo X50 Pro’s camera setup includes an eye-like gimbal camera system featuring the Samsung GN1 lens and a customized Sony lens. An official video released by the company showcases the AI quad-camera of the Vivo X50 Pro.

At the front, it features a curved display with a punch-hole at the top-left corner. The specifications of the smartphone are under wraps. It is speculated that the handset supports 33W fast charging.
