Samsung Galaxy A51s pops up on Geekbench with Snapdragon 765G SoC

Back in December last year, Samsung announced the Galaxy A51 mid-ranger which is targeted at the upper mid-ranger segment. Now, the South Korean smartphone maker is currently prepping an upgraded model of the device known as the Samsung Galaxy A51s.

This device, which bears the model number SM-A516V, has been certified by various certification authorities including the Wi-Fi Alliance and NFC Forum. Shortly after that, it has also appeared on popular benchmarking platform Geekbench along with some of its official specs.

According to its Geekbench 5.2 listing, the Samsung Galaxy A51s will be driven by an octa-core Snapdragon 765G SoC instead of the Exynos 9611 SoC found in the current A51. It will be coupled with a respectable 6GB RAM in the memory department and runs on the latest Android 10 OS.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy A51s achieved a score of 624 points and 1,924 points respectively for its single-core and multi-cores performance tests. The scores is in fact comparatively higher than that of other mid-ranger smartphones in the market.

Other than having a brand new chip, the Galaxy A51s will also carry support for 5G connectivity this time round. As usual, we can expect the device to come with slightly bumped up camera system as well.
