OnePlus Nord Moniker Confirmed; Blind Orders to Begin Tomorrow

OnePlus announced the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro flagship phones in April. Multiple reports have revealed that OnePlus is also working on a mid-range phone. The exact name of have been under wraps. The rumor mill has been speculating that the device could be called OnePlus 8 Lite or OnePlus Z or OnePlus Nord. However, the Amazon India listing of the phone now confirms that the device will be called OnePlus Nord. The Chinese firm will be receiving the blind orders for the OnePlus Nord in India.

The OnePlus Nord will be a part of a new product line from the brand that will include more affordable devices. The new brand is aimed towards a younger audiences. The first handset is expected to be priced around $299 or $399. The handset may go official on July 7 in India and Europe.

The first 100 units of the OnePlus Nord phone will be available tomorrow. OnePlus is yet to confirm the specifications of the smartphone. In order to tease the arrival of the smartphone, OnePlus has started OnePlusLiteZThing Instagram account to let fans view a four-part series to know how it developed the OnePlus Nord. The image captured from the video seemingly belongs to the smartphone.

A recent report from Android Central had revealed that the OnePlus Nord will be equipped with a dual punch-hole display design. The dual selfie camera setup will include a 32-megapixel main lens and an ultrawide shooter of 8-megapixel.

Speculations are rife that the OnePlus Nord will be fueled by Snapdragon 765G SoC. The other rumored specs of the device are 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of native storage, quad-camera setup, a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
