After all the recent teasing, Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the company’s upcoming Redmi 9 Power smartphone will be announced on December 17th next week.
Despite the new moniker, the Redmi 9 Power is essentially a rebranded model of the Redmi Note 9 4G which was launched in the Chinese market last month. As such, it will share the same specs as the latter.
The Redmi 9 Power will be featuring a 6.53-inches FHD+ LCD display that arrives with a typical dewdrop-notch design for its front panel. It’ll be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 662 chipset which will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
For photography, there’ll be a triple camera system at the back consisting of a 48 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. This will be rounded out by an 8 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
Keeping its lights on will be a massive 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Other than that, it also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers.
After launching the Redmi 9 Power, the Chinese smartphone maker will soon be unveiling another mid-ranger device known as the Xiaomi Mi 10i.
