Huawei Mate X2 Launch Reportedly Delayed

Recent reports have revealed that the model number of the upcoming Huawei ‘Mate X2 is TET-AN00. In recent months, the device has already received approvals from the 3C and TENAA certification authorities of China. The rumor mill speculated that the Mate X2 will break cover in early 2021. However, a reliable tipster has now claimed that the arrival of the Mate X2 has been delayed.

According to tipster Teme, the Huawei Mate X2 foldable phone was supposed to launch in January. He did not reveal the reason why the company decided to push back its launch. Also, he did not mention a new timeframe for Mate X2’s launch.

Huawei introduced the Kirin 9000 chipset powered Huawei Mate 40 series of flagship phones in October. It was reported by the Chinese media in November that the company is unable to meet the strong demand for the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ due to a shortage of Kirin 9000 caused by the US sanctions.

Ideally, the upcoming Huawei P50 series and Mate X2 should be featuring the Kirin 9000, which is the latest 5nm flagship SoC from Huawei. However, there is a possibility that the Mate X2’s launch has been delayed due to Kirin 9000’s shortage.

As far as the 3C listing of the device is concerned, it revealed that the device could be shipping with a 66W fast charger. Its TENAA appearance did not reveal any specifications. In terms of design, the Mate X2 is rumored to arrive with a in-folding design like the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Some reports have claimed that the device’s main display will carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable phone is also expected to arrive with better cameras and stylus support.
