When Huawei launches the company’s next-generation Mate 40 flagship series last year, many speculated that it could be the last batch of smartphones to be powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin chipset.
However, fresh reports out of China today seem to suggest otherwise. According to the report, an internal source had told them that the company has in fact stocked up sufficient chips from the Kirin 9000 lineup which the company will use in the upcoming Huawei P50 and Mate 50 series smartphones.
While this may seems to be a great news to all Huawei fans, but we have to bear in mind that its availability may be severely limited. For instance, Huawei used to launch the at least two models of the Mate series smartphones in the global market including a vanilla model and a higher-end “Pro” model.
However, we’d seen from the most recent Mate40 series that only the Huawei Mate40 Pro (Review) made its way to the global market. The vanilla Mate 40 remain limited to the Chinese market.
Since the Huawei P50 series is expected to be launched during the first-halve of the year, we’ll probably hear more about it in the coming weeks or months.
