Motorola Edge S First Sale: Over 10,000 Units Sold in 2 Minutes

On Jan. 26, Motorola took off covers from the Motorola edge S smartphone in China. The third Edge branded device from the company debuted as the world’s first Snapdragon 870 SoC powered phone. The handset was made available for pre-order soon after its launch and its first sale was carried out today in the home market. Soon after making the Edge S available for purchase for the first time, the company confirmed that it sold over 10,000 units of the device in just 2 minutes.

The Motorola Edge S is available in China in three choices such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. They are priced at 1,999 Yuan ($309), 2,399 Yuan ($371), and 2,799 Yuan ($433), respectively. It comes in color like Blue and Silver.

Motorola Edge S Specifications

The Motorola Edge S has a 6.7-inch IPS LCD screen that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone boots to Android 11 OS. The Snapdragon 870 SoC is coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The display flaunts a dual selfie camera setup featuring a 16-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 100-degree FOV. Its rear-facing camera setup has a 64-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens with 121-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 3D ToF sensor.

The Edge S has a massive battery of 5,000mAh capacity, which is coupled with 20W fast charging. The device is equipped with other features like a side-mounted fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
