As scheduled, ZTE has officially announced the brand-new S30 series smartphones in the Chinese market earlier today. A total of three smartphone models including the ZTE S30, S30 Pro and S30 SE were unveiled during the launch event.
ZTE S30 Pro
The ZTE S30 Pro, as its name suggests, is the highest-end model among the trio. It comes with a 6.67” AMOLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution and a smooth 144Hz screen refresh rate. It employs a central hole-punch design upfront to accommodate its 44 megapixels selfie camera.
Over on the rear side, the ZTE S30 Pro features a rectangular camera island which houses a quad-camera system comprising of a 64 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information.
Under the hood, the S30 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 768G chipset which will be paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. The device is also backed by a respectable 4,200mAh battery that comes with 55W fast-charging support.
On the software-side, the S30 Pro will be shipped with the latest MyOS 11 based on Android 11 OS out of the box. The device will be priced at 2,998 Yuan (US$456) in the Chinese market.
ZTE Axon S30
Coming to the ZTE S30, this device sits between the Axon S30 Pro and Axon S30 SE in terms of specs. It features a 6.67” FHD+ LCD display which sports a considerably lower 90Hz refresh rate.
Although it comes with the same central hole-punch design, but its selfie camera has been dropped to a 16 megapixels sensor instead. Similarly, the in-display fingerprint scanner on the Axon S30 Pro has also been swapped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Axon S30 as well.
Around the back of the device, there’s a similar-looking rectangular camera housing which is play host to a quad-camera system consisting of a 64 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 5 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
The ZTE S30 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset which will be coupled with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. It draws power from a 4,000mAh battery which carries support for 30W fast-charging.
For those who’re interested, the ZTE S30 is priced at 2,198 Yuan (US$334) and 2,398 Yuan (US$365) respectively for its 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.
ZTE S30 SE
Last but not the least, we also have the most affordable model dubbed as the ZTE S30 SE. This device also brings along a 6.67” display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution, but sticks to a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The front-facing camera is also downgraded to an 8 megapixels sensor.
On the flip-side, the ZTE S30 SE boasts a triple-camera setup which includes a 48 megapixels primary shooter, 5 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. Notably, the device lacks an ultra-wide lens.
Moving on, the ZTE S30 SE is helmed by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset alongside 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. It will be backed by a massive 6,000mAh battery that comes with 18W fast-charging support. The device is currently priced at just 1,698 Yuan (US$258) in the Chinese market.
