Samsung Galaxy M42 launched with Snapdragon 750G chipset

Samsung has officially announced a new M-series smartphone in the Indian market known as the Galaxy M42. This device, in terms of specs and design, is identical to the Samsung Galaxy A42 which was announced earlier this year.

The Samsung Galaxy M42 features a vibrant 6.6-inches HD+ Super AMOLED panel which employs an Infinity-U design for its 20 megapixels selfie camera. On top of that, it also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.

For photography, the device arrives with a versatile quad camera system consisting of a 48 megapixels primary shooter, an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 5 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 5 megapixels depth sensor.

Under the hood, the Galaxy M42 is driven by an octa-core, Snapdragon 750 5G chipset which will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. As usual, its storage capacity can be further expanded via a microSD card.

The phone draws power from a massive 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. On the software-side, it runs on the custom One UI based on Android 11 out of the box. Aside from that, it also brings along support for NFC connectivity and 3.5mm headphone jack.

In the Indian market, the Samsung Galaxy M42 is priced at INR21,999 (US$296) and INR23,999 (US$322) respectively for its 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants.
