Earlier today, Xiaomi made a grand announcement that the company had sold more than 25 million Redmi Note 8 devices globally, since it’s official launch back in August last year.
To make this special occasion, the company has confirmed the imminent launch of the Redmi Note 8 2021 which we’d been hearing for quite some time. While the company has yet to reveal anything about it’s details so far, but recent leaks had already given us a good idea on what to expect from this upcoming handset.
Based on what we’d learned so far, the Redmi Note 8 2021 is expected to feature an octa-core MediaTek G85 chipset under the hood as opposed to the Snapdragon 665 chipset used in last year’s model.
In the imaging front, it’s tipped to arrive with a quad-camera system lead by a 48 megapixels main camera. As for the other three cameras, they are likely to include an ultra-wide camera, macro camera, as well as depth sensor.
Other than that, the Redmi Note 8 2021 is also said to draw power from a respectable 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support. On the software-side, it’ll be shipped with MIUI 12.5 out of the box.
