Last week, Xiaomi has revealed that the company will soon be launching a new entry-level smartphone known as the Redmi Note 8 2021 to commemorate the sale of 25 million Redmi Note 8 devices globally.
Today, new teasers released by the company has revealed that the Redmi Note 8 2021 will indeed be arriving with entirely the same design as last year’s Redmi Note 8. This means we will be getting the same dewdrop-notch display upfront, and a familiar pill-shape camera island at the back.
While the design stays unchanged, we do note that the phone will come with slightly different specs from it’s processor. Unlike last year’s model which was powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 665 chipset, the new Redmi Note 8 2021 has been confirmed to be powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset instead.
Other than that, earlier reports had also suggested that the device could be coming with a higher refresh rate of 90Hz/ 120Hz, as well as a slightly faster charging speed of 22.5W.
