Featured Huawei News Review Singapore TWS Earphones

Five Reasons Why We Love The New Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick!

Huawei is no stranger to the world of true wireless earphones. Recently, Huawei Singapore had launched a brand new TWS earphone – Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick – which is by far the most creative TWS earbuds we’ve seen till date.

That’s because the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick isn’t any typical-looking TWS earbuds, but rather one that’s pivoted towards the female users especially with a casing design reminiscent of a branded lipstick.

After spending several days with with the Huawei FreeBuds lipstick, here are five reasons why we love the new Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick, and why it makes a perfect gift for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day!

Gorgeous Design Inside Out

Although most of the attention should probably be given to the audio quality, but it’s definitely worth mentioning that the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick comes with a really gorgeous lipstick-like charging case which is sure to impress all female users out there.

The casing itself is a classic combination of black and gold which gives off a luxurious vibe. Unlike most of the earphones which typically adopt a plastic casing, the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick opted for a stainless-steel body that feels premium on hand. Most importantly, it’s slim and compact design allows you to slot the casing easily into your handbag and bring it wherever you go.

Moving on to the earphone, it sports a glamorous red-colored paint job along with a glossy finish. In terms of design, it’s obvious that the earphone shares a completely identical design as the FreeBuds 4 which was launched last year.

Contrary to the recent FreeBuds Pro and FreeBuds 4i, the new Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick features an open-fit design rather than a ”more-intrusive” in-ear canal earbuds. It certainly feels comfortable and secure in ear, and doesn’t really cause any discomfort even when using it for an hour or more.

Of course, part of the pleasant experience is attributed to it’s featherlight weight of just 4.1 grams. It does feels weightless in the ear, just as what Huawei claimed, and you hardly notice it’s existence once you’re accustomed to it after some time.

Intuitive Gesture Controls

Just like most other high-end earphones, the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick also features an intuitive set of gesture controls to take care of your listening experience. These controls work like a charm, and is easy to remember and execute after you get a hang of it.

For instance, double tapping either side of the earbud will allow you to play/ pause a music, or even answer or end a call. Likewise, you can also easily adjust it’s volume by either swiping up or down it’s stem, as well as activate or disable noise cancellation with a long press.

This practically gives you total control over your music playback without even touching your phone, and is extremely useful during a workout when your phone is at a distance away from you.

Advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

The adoption of an open-fit design means that the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick will be lacking passive noise cancellation which other in-ear earphones like the FreeBuds Pro offer to it’s users.

To make up for that, Huawei had built-in an advanced open-fit active noise cancellation system for the FreeBuds 4 which effectively filters out unwanted ambient noise, while preserving important environmental sound from the outside world.

This makes it an ideal companion for those who frequently cycles around a crowded park or along a road, since it doesn’t completely impedes your awareness in areas of heavy traffic.

What’s interesting is that the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick also makes use of an adaptive ear-matching technology which is capable of detecting your unique in-ear shape and the way you wear the earbuds, and then intelligently selects the best noise cancellation mode.

Although it can’t fully replicate the level of noise cancellation offered by earphones with silicone eartips that completely seal your ear canals, but they are surprisingly good for a semi-open earphone.

Enjoyable Audio Experience

Backed by a large 14.3 mm LCP dynamic driver, the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick can get really loud whenever necessary. Sound quality on the whole is also great, with it’s well-balanced sound profile.

Bass response is admirably good and isn’t too overwhelming, allowing you to hear all the vocals and lead instruments. Likewise, mids and trebles are also well-articulated, giving you a musically pleasing experience across all music genres.

Along with it’s impressive noise cancellation and comfort-based design, it’s indeed a real joy to listen music on the new Huawei Freebuds Lipstick.

Enduring Battery Life

The Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick is able to support around 4 hours usage with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) turned off, and roughly 2.5 hours with ANC toggled on. If you take into account it’s charging case, then you can expect an additional 22 hours and 14 hours of music playback respectively.

Speaking of this, the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick can be recharged really quickly via it’s charging case. A full charge typically takes a mere 30 minutes, while a 15 minutes charge is good enough to brings it’s battery level up to 80%. If you do the math, this means you’ll be able to get around 3 hours music playback (without ANC) with a short 15 minutes charge.

To help you keep track of the battery level of the charging case, there’s a tiny light indicator on the outside of the charging case which shows three colors, Red, Yellow and Green, each depicting the different level of battery remaining in the charging case.

Otherwise, you can also easily track the battery level of both the earphones and charging case via the Huawei AI Life app which you can easily download from the Google Play store.

The Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick Is Worth Every Penny

Priced at S$298, the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick shapes up to be one of the most capable TWS earphone within it’s price range, offering an incredibly stylish design along with high-end features like advanced gesture controls, active noise cancellation, fast-charging support, as well as IPX4 rating for water resistance.
