While it’s true that the Honor 50 series smartphones were only recently launched in the global market, but that wouldn’t stops the company from announcing it’s successors in the Chinese market today.
As expected, Honor has unveiled two different models – Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro – during today’s launch event. These two devices however, are pretty similar not just in terms of design but also specs-wise.
Starting off with the Honor 60 Pro, this model comes with a quad-curve design for it’s front display that kind of reminds us of the good old Huawei Mate 30 Pro. It’ll be an OLED panel that measures 6.78” diagonally, offering a FHD+ screen resolution, 10-bit color depth, DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, as well as a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
The vanilla Honor 60 on the other hand, retains largely the same display specs, except it is slightly smaller at 6.67”. Also, it adopts a more conventional dual-curve display instead of a quad-curve panel. As for the selfie camera, the ”Pro” model gets a 50MP front-facing camera while the vanilla model settles with a toned-down 32MP unit.
For photography, the Honor 60 Pro flaunts a triple-camera system that’s lead by a 108 megapixels main camera along with an impressive 50 megapixels ultra-wide camera and a 2 megapixels depth helper.
Although the vanilla model swaps the 50MP ultra-wide camera on the Honor 50 Pro for an 8MP ultra-wide unit, but it’ll keep the other two cameras remain unchanged.
Under the hood, the Honor 60 Pro is powered by the latest Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, while the Honor 60 retains the Snapdragon 778G that was also used on the Honor 50 Pro. Interestingly, both models will share the same 4,800mAh battery which brings support for 66W fast wired charging.
For those who’re interested, the Honor 60 is priced starting from 2,699 Yuan (US$423) for it’s 8GB+128GB base model, while the Honor 60 Pro’s starting price came slightly higher at 3,699 Yuan (US$581) for it’s 8GB+256GB trim.
